What is Athletic Therapy?
Athletic Therapy is a health profession regulated by the Canadian Athletic Therapy Association and is focused on the assessment and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries. An athletic therapist’s expertise range from the evaluation and management of on-field injuries to the assessment and treatment of acute, chronic, pre and post surgical conditions.
How can our therapist help you?
Are you concerned about a lingering injury? Have you experienced knee, back, shoulder pain? Do you constantly “roll” your ankles? Whether you have experienced a chronic, acute or overuse injury, or are concerned about the potential of injury during sport, our resident Athletic Therapist is available to assess your current condition and provide a comprehensive therapeutic program to help reduce pain, increase strength, improve mobility and reach your desired physical goals.
What is an assessment?
The Dynamic Athlete offers a one-on-one hour-long assessment that is designed to identify areas of injury and evaluate your current physical condition. It is used to assess movement quality, strength and range of motion, and recognizes any areas that may be predisposed to injury.
What does a treatment involve?
Every treatment is individualized to meet the needs of each client based on their injury and desired goals. The AT uses a variety of therapeutic manual techniques and exercise to help improve your injury. Our resident AT is trained in the development of strength and conditioning programs and will work to develop a program to meet your needs.
